Reinventing the Toilet
Caltech developed a solar-powered toilet which won the “Toilet of the Future” prize. With two-thirds of the world lacking proper sanitation, a device like this toilet is very beneficial. Caltech’s toilet resuses water reducing developing countries issue on lack of clean water. This toilet also turns urine and feces into fertilizer that will be used for crops and into hydrogen which will be used as a backup energy source. Because of this unique system, there is no reason for a sewer system and no water source since the water is reused. This toilet system runs completely on solar power too!
