Women in solar, are you out there? This year’s “Women in Solar” Forum will highlight amazing women from the DC area and listen to their successes in solar.  Are you working in the solar industry or interested in getting started? Maryland, DC and Virginia have a significant amount of installed solar systems, both PV and solar thermal. There are many women working in and with the solar industry that have helped make this happen. The forum will be followed by an exciting “Women in Solar” luncheon. The luncheon will have a keynote speaker and there will be plenty of time to network.

laureen peckLaureen Peck is the Vice President of Marketing for SolarEnergyWorld and is responsible for developing and managing the company’s marketing, advertising and inside sales team.  Prior to joining SolarEnergyWorld Laureen was the Vice President of Business Development for Merrick Towle Communications. She has over 20 years of experience working for ad agencies across the USA primarily in Business Development. In this role she won new clients and developed marketing strategies and campaign launches for brands including SunEdison, National Geographic, BGE PeakRewards, AARP, Procter & Gamble, Stonyfield Farm, Strayer University and many others. Laureen is also a past President of Women in Film and Video of Maryland and former board member of the American Marketing Association of Baltimore.

Women in Solar Luncheon

Women in solar or women who want to be in solar, the Women in Solar luncheon is for you. We will highlight this year’s “Women in Solar” award winner. It will also highlight one of our strong dynamic women moving solar forward in the DC area, Alisa Gravitz of organization Green America. In the past, every woman that has presented has been dynamic and motivating. Definitely expect more of the same. There will also be time for networking. All are welcome. Yes, there is a charge for this event. It has also sold out in the past. You can buy a ticket when registering or purchase one at the ASES conference.

Speakers

Alisa Gravitz, CEO and President, Green America

Gravitz has helped lead the national agenda to create a socially and environmentally responsible economy for nearly 30 years. As the President and CEO of Green America (formerly Co-op America), Gravitz has pioneered effective techniques for addressing issues of sustainable consumption and production with American consumers and businesses. She earned her MBA from Harvard University and her BA in economics and environmental sciences from Brandeis University.  Green America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
