American Solar Energy Society Unveils New Website & Renewed Vision

CARLY RIXHAM

The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) has unveiled its new website and updated its brand to more effectively share its vision of achieving a 100% renewable energy and sustainable living future. The new site is information-rich, easily navigated and comprehensive, and brings together the Solar Today magazine website with other ASES programs such as the SOLAR 2017 conference, National Solar Tour, and others. It also features a resource library including topics on technology, community, policy, lifestyle, business, and world energy. Resources such as solar trainings, solar basics, Solar@work e-newsletter archives, and a job board provide useful tools for solar professionals and enthusiasts. The components work cohesively to provide visitors an online experience that’s as deep as it is broad.

“We wanted the new website to not only reflect up-to-date news, events and solar energy technology, but also to give our members and larger community an online experience of who we are as an organization,” said Carly Rixham, ASES Executive Director. “The new positioning will help us to continue our legacy of renewable energy advocacy, and more effectively build the solar and sustainability movement in much the same way we have done for the past 60-plus years through the convergence of people, passion and technology.”

ASES also selected a new tagline—the power of community—to reflect its intent to continue bringing together all segments of science, technology and citizenry to advance the possibilities of renewable energy and sustainability in the U.S. This sense of community and the rich culture of the solar industry is evident across the new website and in ASES’ annual programs, long-standing memberships, and dedicated chapters around the country.

“This brand is more than ASES’s name, logo, or graphic identity. It’s also the sum of facts and emotions that come to the minds of our audiences when they hear or read about the organization and its activities,” said Sunshine Urbaniak of SunDesigns Studios, ASES’ lead contractor on the project.

Other than great news, resources and special features available to everyone, ASES members can log in to their member profile for exclusive access to the latest issue of Solar Today magazine, conference discounts, and a chance to participate in online forum discussions. Membership in ASES is foundational to the 501(c) (3) organization and an easy way to support both mission and programming.
