DC optimizers are an emerging class of products touted to offer a multitude of benefits including increased energy production, module-level monitoring, design flexibility and improved safety. These benefits come with a first-cost premium resulting in a barrier to adoption for many who are unsure whether the benefits outweigh the costs. This forum explores the advantages and disadvantages of dc optimization. Hear from professionals who have first-hand experience designing and installing systems incorporating the technology, and owners who will discuss whether they believe it’s worth the investment or just an unnecessary added expense. The solar electric division is still working on organizing several forum proposals and we are seeking participants that are able to speak on the topics of dc optimizers and pv and net zero energy homes. Speakers Would be required to prepare a short presentation (10-15min) and participate in a roundtable discussion at the conclusion of the presentations.
