- Stephen Pearlman, Esq. will present his experience pioneering the NJ Morris Model an innovative public/private financing mechanism for solar schools and other muicipal buildings.
- Andrea Leucke, Executive Director of the Solar Foundation . They are launching a really exciting new initiative called the Brian D. Roberston Memorial Solar Schools Fund that will provide assistance for any school in America that wants to go solar.
- Tyler Espinoza, Project Manager from the private firm Optony who will talk about a really innovative bulk purchase they are doing with Schools and other public buildings in DC, MD, and VA. This is built on other succesful projects they have executed in California and elsewhere.
- Emily Stiever, Program Director Community Power Network who will give an overview of a new report that highlights the diversity of models across the US taking schools solar.
Schools are stepping up in the world of renewable energy. This panel will profile exciting projects and new business models that will lead the way in schools across the country, from a foundation seeking to place solar on every school in the country, to innovators of the New Jersey “Morris model” who will discuss public/private partnerships that allow municipal projects to benefit from tax-related financing and pay steeply discounted energy costs. A national overview of diverse models to bring renewable energy to schools will round out the panel.
