Sara Motamedi, 2012 JOHN AND BARBARA YELLOT AWARD

Sara Motamedi is a graduate student of Architecture Department at University of Texas at Austin. Currently she is studying toward a Master of Science in Sustainable Design. She got her Bachelor in Architecture from University of Teheran, Iran. She is an advocate of sustainability. Her interests are in integration of energy and daylighting simulations at the first stage of design.

“Toplighting Strategies for Office buildings in Austin” is her recent research, being published at the WREF Conference 2012. In this research she prepared a design guide for practitioners to compare different toplighting strategies regarding the site energy and source energy, as well as daylighting distribution. After her graduation in fall 2012, she intends to pursue a career in research and design.
