Choosing Speakers for SOLAR 2008
Speakers for SOLAR 2008 are invited in several ways:
Technical Session Presenters
Technical Sessions are comprised of speakers who have submitted abstracts and written technical papers on their latest research, projects, policy or advocacy work.
Deadline for abstract submittal was October 15, 2007. Absolutely NO abstracts will be accepted after that date.
Forum Speakers
Forums are 90 minute sessions that take an in-depth look at one timely topic. Forums are proposed by individuals as full sessions, and if accepted by the SOLAR 2008 National Organizing Committee, are organized by the person who submitted the original proposal.
Deadline for forum proposal submittal was October 15, 2007. Absolutely NO proposals will be accepted after that date.
Once a forum proposal has been accepted, the Forum Organizer has complete discretion as to whom they invite to speak in the Forum. Some organizers will welcome input to their sessions, and some will not.
If you are interested in speaking in a Forum at SOLAR 2008, please follow these instructions:
- After December 15, go to the list of accepted forums >>
- Select the session or sessions to which you would like to contribute your expertise.
- Send an e-mail to bchowe@ases.org with the list of Forums (by exact title) and a brief explanation of how you could contribute as a speaker to the Forum(s).
- Conference organizers will pass your information to the Forum Organizer(s). If there is interest, the Forum Organizer will contact you directly.
Workshop Presenters
Workshops provide a more detailed and structured treatment of relevant topics in a much longer format than 90 minute conference sessions. Workshops are typically four or eight hours long, and can be multiple days. Workshops are proposed by individuals as full sessions.
Deadline for workshop proposal submittal was October 15, 2007. Absolutely NO proposals will be accepted after that date.
Consumer Presentations
Consumer Presentations are given by representatives of companies Exhibiting at SOLAR 2008. For more information on Exhibiting at SOLAR 2008, please click here >>
Plenary (Keynote) Speakers
Plenary Speakers are identified and invited by the National Organizing Committee. Plenary speakers are speakers of the highest caliber – the acknowledged leaders of the Renewable Energy community.
Plenary Speakers are identified by the committee very early in the process, and most will be confirmed by December, 2007.
Unfortunately, our process does not allow for nominations for Plenary Speakers.
