The Benefits of Real-Time Production Monitoring to the Renewable Energy Industry

Moderator: James M. Bing, PE, New Energy Options, Inc.

As the number and scale of renewable energy systems increase, real-time monitoring of those systems becomes more and more important.  There are many ways that real-time monitoring systems benefit the renewable energy industry: reporting for financial incentives and REC credits, increased reliability, ability to perform quick troubleshooting, greater integration of RE resources with grid operation, etc.  The purpose of the forum is to illustrate how real-time monitoring benefits the industry by bringing together different groups monitoring renewable energy systems and those using the monitored data.  Perspective will come from the public and private sector participants such as system developers, owners, utilities, consultants and third-party monitoring providers.
