Special Offers for Sunbeam Subscribers

Your Sunbeam e-newsletter, a publication of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), shines a bright light on the many aspects of renewable energy — its varied technologies, its applications, and on its importance in reducing U.S. dependence on foreign oil and on the mitigation of global climate degradation. ASES is working hard to make large-scale adoption of renewable energy and energy-efficiency technologies a national reality.

Why Join ASES?
ASES is a membership organization devoted to the advancement of solar and other renewable energy and energy-efficiency technologies. Made up of a diverse group of citizens, scientists, educators, industry leaders and public interest advocates who are eager to embrace and expand the use of renewable energy technologies, ASES is uniquely positioned to provide a solar “melting pot” where people from all facets of the renewable energy community can interact.

ASES actively promoted a healthier environment in 2006.
Through its many projects and programs, ASES worked to advance the education and use of renewable energy technologies:

SOLAR 2006. ASES' annual technical conference boasted 1,900 registered participants while 2,000 attended the first-ever “Public Day.”

2006 National Solar Tour. The annual event offered 90,000 people the opportunity to visit green-built homes and other buildings and to experience renewable energy and energy-efficiency technologies in action.

Legacy School Program. In an effort to leave a lasting effect on the cities that host its annual conference, ASES selects one school in each location as a "Legacy School." Through ASES and its partners, each school receives a PV system and installation, instruction materials and teacher training. Del Pueblo Elementary School in Denver, Colorado, was the 2006 Legacy School.
