This division promotes the development, exchange, and use of information on the multiple environmental and societal benefits of renewable energy combined with energy efficiency and conservation.

Definition:

Sustainability development (as defined by the World Commission on Environment and Development Chapter 2, Section 1, Paragraph 1): “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
