 This year’s Colorado Small Hydro Conference is being held in conjunction with the American Solar Energy Society’s (ASES) annual conference and the World Renewable Energy Forum (WREF). Hydropower now provides about 5% of Colorado’s electricity, with almost 70 operating hydropower facilities, ranging in size from 5 kW to 300 MW. There are hundreds of megawatts of currently undeveloped hydropower available at existing impoundments and diversions as well existing municipal water systems.
