Elaine UlrichA native Coloradan, Elaine began her physics career at Wellesley college. She continued research at the University of Arizona’s college of optics where she completed her PhD. A former AAAS fellow, Elaine has spent the past few years working on renewable energy in the office of former senator Ken Salazar, the Science & Technology committee in the US house of Representatives, DOE’s office of Strategic Planning and Analysis in EERE, and she recently served as the Sr. Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, where she built a comprehensive solar energy portfolio. Elaine currently manages the NextGeneration Photovoltaic, BRIDGE and GEARED programs in the Solar Energy Technologies Program at the US Department of Energy. In her spare time, Elaine is the lead announcer for the DC rollergirls roller derby league.
