Monterey California Solar Tour and Sustainability Fair

Tour Description: There will be a guided tour on small luxury coaches which will visit houses demonstrating sustainability features, including solar electricity generated from photovoltaic panels, cisterns for collecting water for irrigation, solar collectors for heating domestic water, native plant landscaping, passive solar design, and a pool heated by plastic solar collectors. Tour fee includes bus fare, hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting (for those over 21).

Tour Description: On October 14th the public is invited to tour 2 businesses and 3 local homes. It will feature Grid-tie systems, systems for emergency back-up. There will be many energy saving ideas, including passive cooling and heating, thermal hot water and radiant floor heating. This tour features much financial analysis data and expertise for those seeking the cost-benefit details.

Southern California Tour of Solar and Energy Efficient Homes

In addition there will be a caravan of cars from home to home with time-oriented visitation to typical energy efficient homes.

Tour Description: The San Diego Solar Homes Tour is the seventh annual showcase of residential solar technologies. This year, over 30 homes throughout San Diego County are participating. This self-guided tour offers real-life, working examples of three residential solar energy technologies: solar electric (photovoltaics), solar water heating and solar pool heating. Each site will have information handouts on solar energy and a technical solar representative will be available to answer your questions. The homeowner will also be there to describe their solar experience. Please do not disturb residents at any other time.

San Francisco Solar Homes and Electric Vehicles Tour

Tour Description: Self-guided tour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. of nine solar-powered homes and alternative-fuel vehicles. Registration gets you a Guidebook, and you decide where to go. Talk with homeowners and solar installers at the houses for loads of information. Co-sponsored by the Northern California Solar Energy Association, S.F. Department of the Environment, and Sierra Club Bay Chapter Energy Committee.
Tour Fee: $20 for 1-2 people includes free admission for 1 person ($30 value) to Homeowners Day at West Coast Green residential building conference at Civic Auditorium. Two escorted tour packages are available for $150 each, good for up to four people to be chauffeured from Civic Center for 3 hours in a city-owned electric RAV4-EV SUV, plus admission for two to West Coast Green's Homeowners Day.

SLO County Eco Home Tour
