Tour Description:
Ten homes at seven different locations will be open for visitors in the Central Florida area. Visitors will be able to ask questions of a solar contractor or representative at each location. The homes will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the tour date.

Tour Description: The FSEC building is one of the most energy efficient in the world and features many off-the-shelf building strategies and components. Experts will describe the major energy-saving features.

How to Take this Tour: Visit FSEC on Friday October 6th at 1679 Clearlake Road, Cocoa. Tours are 50 minutes long and will take place on the hour starting at 9 a.m. and the last tour at 3 p.m. Cameras are permitted.

: Tour includes national historic Solar House at UF's Energy Research and Education Park, Florida's first building to receive gold certification from LEED, and various homes in the Gainesville area using solar energy to replace conventional sources of energy. Experts in the field will be giving tours and answering questions.

Two Florida Keys Grid-Tied Solar Homes

Tour Description:
Two solar homes (active and passive) with solar hot water and utility- interconnected solar electric, battery-back-up systems. One home is also interconnected with local water utility and built with healthy materials and finishes. Both homes can operate silently without utility power indefinitely, albeit with fans instead of air conditioning.
Tour Fee: $10
How to Take this Tour: Tours will be held by appointment only. Call for directions and appointment times. Tour hours 10 AM to 4 PM.
