Tour Description: Come tour Houston area homes that
demonstrate how our transition to sustainable energy sources has
begun. Learn how to save money and the environment. Part of the
American Solar Energy Society's National Solar Tour. Tour fee
includes entry to all tour sites, 1 guide book and a free energy
efficient light bulb.
Tour Fee: $10 per car
How
to Take this Tour:
Visit any one of the tour locations between noon and
5:30pm on
Saturday, October 6, 2007 and purchase a tour guide for $10. This
guide will get you and your family/group into any of the locations
on the tour. [Hint: carpooling is encouraged so sharing a guide is
allowed for any group of 6 or less traveling together]. Visit any or
all of the locations on your own in any order during the tour hours
and there will be someone there to greet you. The list of locations

Tour Description: Texas Specialist Center located at 208
Gaslight Blvd. in Lufkin will be a host for the Annual American
Solar Tour. On Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00
a.m. Dr. Jackson Wagnon will open his medical office building for a
walking tour explaining such features as passive solar design for
heating and air, site planning, extensive use of day lighting and
energy efficient lighting, photovoltaics, low toxicity building
materials promoting high quality indoor air, rain water collections
system and xeriscape landscaping.
