Tour Description:

Solar powered and energy efficient homes and buildings in Washington state will be open for visits by the public from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday October 6, 2007. Find out how your neighbors are trimming their energy bills and increasing their energy security. Learn about energy efficiency, speak with homeowners and experts and learn how solar technology works, what it costs and why it makes sense. Some sites will also feature alternative fuel and electric vehicles.
Tour Fee: Free. Donations appreciated.

See Tacoma's First Solar Grid-Tied Home with a solar array of more than 1500 Watts of dual-axis solar tracking moving right before your eyes!  Watch my Electric Meter running BACKWARDS!  Pennies from Heaven!  Sit in the solar powered Massage Chair, Ride on the Solar Electric Scooter, see an Evacuated Tube Solar Water Heater.  Be amazed by the Solar Attic Fan.  Check out my Rain Barrels!  Wonder about the LED (Light Emitting Doo-dads) Lighting of the future.  A LED light for the Narrows Bridge Lighting project will be on display!  Marvel at 2 Sun, 3 Sun and 500 Sun solar concentrating photovoltaics with the highest efficiency (43%) in the world!   I also hope to have a very cool, Working Tibetan Solar Stove too!  Got Organic Solar Trackers?   I have more than 15 types of OST (Sunflowers) in the ground around my house!  Bring finger food and wine to share.
