What made you go solar?

The financial incentives from State and Federal programs covered approximately two-thirds of the cost of going solar.  Enerbank, who provides home improvement and home energy loans, offered a one year same-as-cash financing for the last one-third of the investment we needed.

How is your life different after you went solar?

Being on fairly fixed incomes, we’re no longer stressed about rising electricity costs as we plan for our retirement.

What’s the best part about being solar?

The best part is definitely making more than half of the electricity we use for our 1,300 sq. ft. home.  My husband thinks the best part is the $7 electric bill he paid one month!

What tips do you have for others who want to go solar?

I had been looking into solar for approximately seven years before everything fell into place. When the opportunity arose financially and realistically, I was ready to do it.
