Intern/Volunteer

ASES is currently seeking talented interns, part-time and contract employees who are enthusiastic about our mission and passionate about renewable energy. Interested candidates should direct their resume and cover letter to info@ases.org with the position of interest included in the subject line.

Internship Opportunities: All internship positions provide a strong introduction to renewable energy as well as the operation of a non-profit organization. They typically require 10 hours/week, for five months, and while they are non-paid, internships are eligible for university credit. In some cases, outstanding internship performance can lead to paid part-time positions.

Membership and Database Analyst

  • Assist with payment processing & membership renewals
  • Database cleanup and record merges
  • Manage monthly and special mailings to member base
  • Maintain contact list management
  • Develop value proposition of ASES membership

Social Media Advocate

  • Social media & website content feedback and maintenance
  • Development of digital media strategy
  • Video content creation and editing
  • Linkedin, twitter, Facebook & Instagram page management
  • Manage bi-weekly newsletter targeted to connect solar energy industry and enthusiasts with cutting edge and academic industrial advances

Fundraising Campaign and Grants Research

  • Monitor proposals throughout the research, planning, drafting and submission phases
  • Compose professional correspondence (letters of intent, etc.)
  • Solicit corporate sponsorships and find creative ways to fundraise in an increasingly online environment
  • Develop/modify marketing materials (brochures, recruitment, promotional flyers, pledge forms) to promote fundraising campaigns
  • Assist in identification and application of grants

Programs Associate

  • Contribution of original content on all program forums and blogs
  • Develop events & program marketing materials
  • Maintenance of Tiny watts website and continuation of membership interaction with site
  • Maintain partnership needs with Solar United Neighbors and National tour responsibilities
  • Continuous upkeep of seasonal programs and materials
